J-Hull Daily Nickel: 11/03/2011

1.) Today we start with the biggest surprise of the month!  Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month!  WOW!  Shocking!!!  Rodgers completed over 71% of his passes for 1455 yards, 12 TDs and 2 picks (that were off the hands of his receivers).  Rodgers joins Barry Sanders as the only players to receive this honor 3-consecutive months.  Vikings DE Jared Allen was the defensive player of the month while Devin Hester of the Bears received the Special Teams Honors.

2.) Speaking of hardware, Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder notched Silver Slugger Awards yesterday as the best hitters at their positions in the National League.  For Braun, it was his 4th straight making him the first to do so since Barry Bonds won 5-straight from 2000 to 2004.  As for Fielder, it was his second award with his first coming in 2007.

One other Brewers note is that Cory Provus has been hired as the #1 Radio Broadcaster for the Minnesota Twins.

3.) Apparently, Detroit hates Nickelback as much as everyone else! My suggestions for who should play:

#1: Foo Fighters
#2: Foo Fighters
#3: Foo Fighters

4.) We knew life was not going to well for this pair of former Major Leaguers...but this is just AWESOME!  I have Dykstra in an opening round knockout.

5.) My Wednesday Night Picks Guaranteed to go Wrong:
#1: Miami OH -14
#2: Minnesota Wild Straight up (+115)
#3: Edmonton Oilers Straight up (+150)

Wednesday Results (2-1):  Both Philly and Phoenix won on the ice, Temple/Ohio went over
November Total: (5-1)
