Closet the Ball and Glove for the Playoffs

I want to start out this piece by saying, as a Brewers fan, how much I love the Ball-and-Glove Brewers logo that Milwaukee wore from 1978 to 1993.  Its fun to pop on the TV or head to a game and seeing the team celebrate their history by going retro!  I own a jersey and a hat from this era myself, but for the next few weeks the logo needs to take a brief hiatus as it is time to celebrate the the 2011 team!

I say this because the 2011 Brewers team needs to have their own identity.  The 2011 Milwaukee Brewers have set a franchise record for wins with 96.  They also won the NL Central Title, the franchise's first Division Crown since 1982.  This year's team needs to be celebrated and allowed to be themselves.

As a life long Brewer fan, I would encourage Brewer fans heading to the games this Post Season to wear the current team logo out of respect.  I love the old logo, it's better than the current one in my opinion, but now is not the time for it.  Allow this team take on their own identity as they make a run in the post season.  Its about 2011 now and this team deserves their just due!  This would be a great way to give it to them.
